Services to other lawyers

We support UK law firms in corporate or banking transactions, or whose clients are engaged in high value or complex litigation.  The London offices of several foreign law firms instruct us to supply English legal services to their own clients.  Every year we manage corporate acquisitions for overseas clients, or represent them in litigation or arbitration within the UK, working closely with their principal lawyers.

Our work is usually on a disclosed basis (where the instructing lawyer's client knows about our role).  We can also assist on a discreet basis (where we advise other lawyers directly, to enable them to offer services to their client that would otherwise be outside their own areas of expertise).

Examples of our special services to other lawyers include:

• giving expert opinions on Engish law and procedure
• cross border corporate and tax structuring advice
• purchasing companies (within the UK and overseas)
• advice on banking and debt agreements and structures
• assistance with global depository receipts listings
• establishing subsidiary companies and partnerships
• acting as service agent for English law contracts obtaining evidence (with court assistance) to use in non UK court proceeedings
• defending or obtaining injunctions (including freezing orders)
• enforcing non UK judgments within the UK
• due diligence and status investigations into companies and individuals
• serving non UK court proceedings and subpoenas within the UK

We have close associations with specialist lawyers throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the US to assist us with legal issues in other jurisdictions.
