Adjudication
Adjudication is a form of dispute resolution brought into effect from 1st May 1998 under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.
The aim of the legislation is to provide a quick fix system for resolving disputes within the Construction Section as and when they arise. The matter may subsequently proceed to litigation or arbitration where the tribunal will consider the matter from scratch without being concerned as to what the adjudicator decided or why.
NB - This is a summary only. Advice should be sought on specific issues and specific cases. All members of our Dispute Resolution Team are trained to represent clients in the process mentioned above.
